The forehead lift
The forehead lift corrects wrinkles, lowered eyebrows and deep frown wrinkles. The remarkable efficiency of the forehead lift gives the face a relaxed, rested and rejuvenated aspect.
The consultation
It allows the surgeon to appreciate the condition of the frown wrinkles, horizontal wrinkles and the lowering of eyebrows. It is very useful to have old and recent photographs of the patient to help the surgeon better evaluate the corrections to be undertaken, especially the position of the eyebrow.
The technique
An incision in the scalp is made at about 4 cm behind the hair line which will not be receeded.
During the surgery, the muscles responsible for the wrinkles are suppressed and eyebrows are placed in their correct position. The scar in the scalp will be practically invisible.
If necessary, the forehead lift can be combined with a cervicofacial lift in order to obtain a more complete and more homogeneous rejuvenation of the face.
In some cases, especially when there are only wrinkles to suppress, one can perform this lift by a video endoscopy assisted method (see page 13).
- Preoperative tests are required.
- Hospitalization : 24 hours.
- Duration of the intervention : 1 hour fifteen.
- Anesthesia : either general, or IV sedation (local anesthesia plus tranquilizers).
- Resumption of normal activity : 10 days after the surgery.
Face lifts
Forehead lift. Frown and forehead wrinkles have disappeared.
Eyebrows are repositioned.
The forehead has not been enlarged.
