The video endoscopy assisted surgery

This recent technique of video endoscopy assisted surgery reduces the size of scars.

- It is done by placing five incisions of approximately 15 mm each in the scalp : a fiber optic cord connected to a camera is placed through one incision and necessary instruments for the realization of the surgery through the others.

The progression of the procedures is followed on a television screen.

- The best indication is forehead rejuvenation :

  1. erasing frown wrinkles, forehead wrinkle attenuation, and in some cases, correction of eyebrow position,
  2. it is intentionally combined, if necessary, to a face lift and a neck lift.

The video endoscopy assisted surgery is only a complementary technique in cases of loosening of the face and the neck, of  breast  augmentation, and in tightening a distended abdomen.

  • Preoperative tests are required.
  • Hospitalization : for a forehead endoscopy assisted lift : 24 hours.
  • Anesthesia : either general, or IV sedation (local anesthesia plus tranquilizers).
  • Compressive dressing : 3 days. Eyelids may be swollen and black and blue for a few days.
  • Resumption of normal activity : 10 days after the surgery
