The preparation : is mandatory
After an evaluation of the state of the skin, a preparation has to be made during the two or three week period preceding the treatment.
This preparation is essential for the success of the peel. At home, morning and evening, the patient will have to use a hydroquinone based solution and Retin A. During this period, a normal life is possible and the patient can put on make-up as usual.
This preparation is going to give the skin a pleasant and characteristic pink color. This pink color allows the surgeon to master, during the treatment, the depth of penetration of TCA :
- superficial in some areas where only the improvement of the luster of the skin is desired,
- deeper if erasing fine wrinkles is desired.
Patient having undergone lifting and blepharoplasty. A peeling, performed at the same time, has erased the fine wrinkles, provided a radiance to the skin and improved the result.
After the peel, the surgeon will prescribe some creams to apply morning and evening. It is mandatory for the application of make-up that the skin be dried and healed. The patient must avoid sun exposure for three months.
